Community-led demonstration calling for Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson to fulfill commitments on prostitution and human-traffickin

What: A community-led demonstration with residents of neighborhoods and community organizations

Why: Under Mayor Gregor Robertson’s leadership, Vancouver police are refusing to arrest pimps and sex buyers cruising Vancouver neighborhoods and abusing women despite repeated calls to 911. The Mayor is reneging on official commitments to end human trafficking and prostitution made with the Pope and with local coalition Emancipation Now.

Who Should Attend: Anyone who is concerned about ongoing pimping and sex-buying activity in Vancouver, including on the street and in Asian-themed massage parlours that the City of Vancouver licenses. Anyone who wants police to enforce existing Canadian law that makes the buying and selling of women and girls illegal. Anyone who understands that women and girls in prostitution need better options than prostitution.

Where: Vancouver City Hall, 453 West 12 Avenue

When: Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
